Do I need a credit card to start?

No. Every signup starts a 14-day Starter trial without a card. You choose a plan when the trial ends.

Are there per-lesson fees?

No. Plans are a flat monthly or yearly price, sized by locations, active students, staff seats, AI actions and storage.

Can you move our students over from our current software or spreadsheets?

Yes, for free. Email support@docet.org a spreadsheet or export of your students and families, and we'll import it and help set up your locations during your trial. Request guided setup

Does Docet handle tutor pay?

Docet logs teaching time when a tutor completes a session. Directors approve hours, each tutor's hourly rate (with location overrides) is applied, and approved hours export to CSV for your payroll provider. Docet doesn't pay tutors directly.

Can parents prepay for packages?

Yes. Sell prepaid hour or session packages; completed sessions draw down the balance, and you choose whether absences count against it.

Does Docet send SMS or session reminders?

Not yet. Docet emails invoices, invites, and approved progress updates, and tutors can subscribe to their schedule in Google, Apple, or Outlook Calendar.

Does AI message parents on its own?

No. AI is off until an organization owner turns it on. Every AI-drafted update waits for director approval, and parents get at most one digest per child every seven days.

Who can see student data?

Access is scoped by role. Owners see the whole organization, directors see their locations, tutors see their own sessions and students at their locations, and parents see only their own children. Read the privacy policy

How do parents pay?

Parents pay invoices online by card. Payments go through Stripe Connect, so you connect your own Stripe account.

Can I cancel or get my data out?

Cancel anytime in Settings → Plan; it takes effect at the end of the paid period. There is no self-serve data export yet: contact support and we handle export and deletion requests manually. Renewal and cancellation terms
